UPDATE 6-1-2017: Colorado State University Forecasters anticipate activity near the median 1981-2010 seasons for the 2017 hurricane season. This is an increase from the April 2017 forecast. In addition to Tropical Storm Arlene, a rare pre-season storm that formed in April, it is estimated that 2017 will have an additional 13 named storms, 6 of those being hurricanes. It is expected the Atlantic basin ACE & NTC activity will be approximately 105 percent of their long term median values.
